TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Jury choice is underway within the legal trial of Rensselaer County Government Steve McLaughlin. McLaughlin was indicted on two fees in December 2021, together with third diploma grand larceny and first diploma providing a false instrument for submitting.
McLaughlin is accused of withdrawing $5,000 from his marketing campaign fund to pay $3,500 in private money owed. He was a state assemblyman on the time. He then allegedly filed a monetary disclosure report that claimed the funds had been used to pay for consulting.
He has denied any wrongdoing.
